Questions
Can a summary be wrong?
Occasionally, yes. Every summary shows a confidence level and the sentences it was based on. If a quoted sentence can’t be found in the email, 2Sentence removes it and lowers the confidence. For anything important, open the original email.
Does 2Sentence change anything in my mailbox?
No. It only has read access. It doesn’t send, delete, move or archive email, and it doesn’t mark messages as read.
Who can see my email?
No one at Jethin Productions reads your email. On the free plan, 2Sentence’s own AI writes your summaries. With 2Sentence Pro, they’re written by Claude, Anthropic’s AI, which receives the email text to do it, unless you choose the private server in Settings. Either way, it’s discarded once the summary is made. The full details are in the privacy policy.
Which accounts can I connect?
Gmail, Outlook.com, Microsoft 365, and any provider that supports IMAP, including Yahoo Mail, iCloud Mail, Zoho and most email hosts. Most IMAP providers ask for an app password, which you can create in your email account’s security settings.
Can 2Sentence remind me about assignments and classes?
Yes. In Deadlines, connect your school’s calendar (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Schoology, Google Classroom, Teams and more) and you get a reminder the day before each assignment is due. Attendance and classes are left out of those reminders. You can also add your class timetable by pasting it from your student portal or uploading a screenshot. No portal password is needed. Can 2Sentence explain an email in more detail?
Yes. Open any email and select Explain this email in detail. You get a fuller explanation: the key points, what you’re being asked, the dates that matter and a suggested next step. With 2Sentence Pro (Claude), the pictures in the email, such as charts, tickets or screenshots, are explained too.
Do I need a Google account?
No. You can continue without signing in and connect Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud or any other email. Connecting Gmail goes through Google sign-in. Signing in with Google also keeps your accounts and summaries when you use another device; it only shares your name and email address.
How do I get notifications on iPhone?
Open 2Sentence in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open it from the new icon and turn on notifications in Settings. This works on iOS 16.4 and later.
Is there an Android or iPhone app?
Native apps for Google Play and the App Store are coming soon. Until then, open 2Sentence in your phone’s browser. On Android, choose Install app from the browser menu. On iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
